The WHMIS training course is an online-only training for those who work with or near hazardous materials.

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a Canadian information system designed to ensure the safe use of hazardous materials in workplaces. It provides workers with vital information about hazardous products through:

  1. Labels: Standardized hazard symbols and warnings on product containers.
  2. Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Detailed information about the product’s risks, handling procedures, and emergency measures.
  3. Training: Ensures that workers understand how to safely handle and respond to hazardous materials in their environment.

WHMIS was updated in 2015 to align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), which standardizes the classification and labeling of chemicals worldwide. This updated version is known as WHMIS 2015.

Any worker who handles or is near hazardous products in the workplace is required to complete Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training. In February 2015, WHMIS was updated to align with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), and this updated system is called WHMIS 2015.

Completion: Participants must pass a required test to advance from one module to the next. If a participant does not pass, they must review the module content and retake the test. There is no limit on the number of retakes.

Certification: After successfully completing all modules, participants can print a certificate for their records.

WHMIS training is non-refundable.
