An automated external defibrillator (AED) is an electronic device that assists those who experience sudden cardiac arrest. If you are performing CPR and the person remains unresponsive with no pulse, you may need to use an AED. It is always beneficial to be trained in CPR and AED as cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death. AEDs save lives when used correctly.
AEDs can be found in public spaces all over Canada, including the city of Brampton, whether it is in an office, on a form of public transit or in a school!
