Frequently Asked Questions
CPR training with Coast2Coast does not only teach you how to perform CPR. It teaches you a variety of other important life-saving skills. These skills vary from learning about your role as a First Aider, helping someone who is choking, what a stroke is and so much more. Another important topic CPR training covers is how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). AEDs are a great tool to have while performing CPR as they increase the chances of bringing someone back to life.
At Coast2Coast, we offer our CPR training in two different online formats. One is the Online Blended format. This training is split in half between an online and in-class portion. Students will learn the theory online, then attend an in-class session to practice their hands on skills. The Online Blended format does provide students with a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificate. Our Online-Only training format, on the other hand, does not provide students with an official certificate. This format provides students the opportunity to learn the theory online. Students must upgrade their training to our Online Blended course and attend an in-class session to receive an official certificate.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is different from CPR level C. It is recommended that the general public completes a CPR level C training at some point whether it is for school, work or just for their own knowledge. BLS training is specifically for those in healthcare. Most people who need BLS training include nurses, first responders, those in dental related professions, etc. This specialized training will teach students how to work as a team in a healthcare environment, assist someone suffering from opioid overdose, understand the six rights of medication and more.
There are multiple levels of first aid training, but one of our basic first aid courses is called Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C. This course teaches students everything from CPR to wound care. It is an 8-hour course which is half the length of our Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training course. Those who need Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C typically include security guards, government workers, PSWs and more.
Accidents happen on a daily basis and one day you may be near one as it occurs. Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in Canada. It is likely that someone you know suffers from heart disease and could experience a heart attack. With your knowledge of CPR, you could be the one to save that person’s life. It is important to complete CPR training so you are prepared for an emergency situation.
You Learn CPR, We donate . . .
Helping Those in Need is the Responsibility of Those Who Can. Coast2Coast is now pleased to announce that a portion of all the proceeds will be donated to the Sick Kids Foundation. Yes, not only will you learn how to save lives, but you can help save them too. We are in business to help people change their lives.
