Enroll for our BLS course today at our Etobicoke facility and gain the confidence needed to save lives.
Is BLS the same as CPR level C?
Not quite. CPR Level C and Basic Life Support are two very different levels of CPR training. In CPR Level C, the course is an introductory course for Canadians from all walks of life. Basic Life Support offers extra training specific to healthcare professionals in roles such as first responders, nurses, dentists, etc. Expect to learn extensive details about providing CPR and emergency care to patients in any setting, whether in a hospital or an emergency.
How long is Basic Life Support training?
The Basic Life Support training lasts for four hours and provides students with a certificate valid for one year. This training replaced the HCP and its three-year certificate. This upgrade by the Canadian government means that you train more often, ensuring that you continue practicing the skills required while also learning about new developments in Basic Life Support.
Passing is not tricky if you come prepared and pay attention. Read the Basic Life Support eBook provided beforehand, and ask questions. If you fail the hands-on skills section or multiple choice questions, our instructors give you advice and a second chance to pass. If you fail again, you can phone the office to reschedule a new training date.
For anyone struggling with Basic Life Support, we recommend completing our Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training course in Etobicoke to help you understand the basics.
