First Responder Recertification (FR) Training Program

Ready to refresh your First Responder (FR) skills? At Coast2Coast, we provide First Responder Recertification training courses throughout Ontario, helping keep our student’s certificates valid. This advanced training has been designed to go over content you have previously learned while also incorporating newly developed life-saving techniques.

The course covers a wide range of topics from assessing patients and circulatory emergencies to hemorrhages and soft tissue trauma. In addition to this content, students will also learn how to extricate patients, deliver a baby and so much more.

Each of these skills is not only taught over lecture but also taught through scenario-based training. Students will be required to act out emergency scenes as a way to practice patient assessments, vitals, various medical emergencies, and how to care for the patient. Practicing scenarios is a key aspect of First Responder Recertification training.

Requirements:

Proof of valid First Responder Canadian Red Cross Certification
100% attendance of the course
75% score on the multiple choice knowledge test
Successful demonstration of required skills
Successfully complete minimum of two practical scenarios (one medical, one trauma)

Certification:

Certificate will be issued, valid for 3 years

First Responders play a very important role in our community, and it’s our job to ensure they learn the necessary skills to save a life. Our goal is to provide our students with the best training possible, helping them build confidence in their life-saving skills. Learn theory and complete various hands-on scenarios which will prepare you for your career as a First Responder!

Private Training - First Responder Recertification Courses

Interested in Private Training? If you have a group of eight or more participants who need First Responder Recertification, you are eligible to sign up for a Private Training course. Private Training allows you to learn important life-saving skills at a location of your choice! We’ll send one of our highly trained Canadian Red Cross instructors to you. Attended for Standard First Aid and CPR recertification course as a work requirement. Excellent venue, bright and clean space. Equipment was up to date and well kept with enough mannequins and other supplies for everyone. Health and safety of participants was a priority. Videos and PowerPoint was used to enhance the learning but the instructor didn’t just read the information off. Our Instructor Ezz was excellent! He was very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable right from the start. He explained all concepts and information in detail with relatable facts and reasoning to help ensure everyone understood. Ezz role played and engaged participants to help make the information memorable and more relatable to real situations we might face in our jobs or daily life. Ezz made sure to give time for breaks and was very respectful of each participants learning needs and learning styles. The day was focused on mastering the practical skills and not the usual pressure of having to just pass the test. Ezz made sure to assist and correct each participant individually without making anyone feel uncomfortable. A wonderful atmosphere for learning. I have been taking this course from other providers for the past 30 years and Ezz’s expertise ensured I learned something new and was able to retain the information. I feel very confident in my skills after participating in Ezz’s class and look forward to referring Coast2Coast to my colleagues. A great day!
