The feeling one receives from saving someone’s life and preventing further injury is amazing. Professional Responder training has been designed for those in/going into a first responder role such as a paramedic, firefighter, rescue team and more. There are a couple levels of Professional Responder trainings including First Responder and Emergency Medical Responder.
Each of these courses is available for Recertification as well as an upgrade from First Responder to Emergency Medical Responder. These advanced courses can run anywhere from 20-80 hours depending on the course level registered for.
Students will learn amazing life-saving techniques such as how to move a person with a neck/spine injury, how to supply oxygen, how to apply a cervical collar and more. After completing their training course, students will earn a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificate which is valid for three years.
Some of our Professional Responder training courses in Hamilton require you to be certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. Please be sure to meet all necessary pre-requisites prior to registering for a First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder course.
First Aid and CPR/AED training courses from a Canadian Red Cross training partner such as Coast2Coast are offered in two separate formats. There is the Traditional All In-Class format and the Online Blended format. Both training formats will provide students with a WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificate, providing you the option to choose what format is best for you.
With the Online Blended format, your course will be split into two parts: an online component and an in-class session. This format provides students the flexibility to complete half of their training in their own time in the comfort of their own home. The online component does not need to be completed all in one sitting, making it easy for students to digest the material.
Prior to attending an in-class session, you must complete the online component. Once you attend the in-class portion, you will practice hands-on skills with one of our highly trained Canadian Red Cross instructors. Complete your training and gain the confidence required to help a person in need.
If you require First Aid and CPR/AED training for your workplace or school program, then we highly recommend you check with your employer/program coordinator to find out which level of training you need. Many professions require you to be certified in First Aid and CPR/AED and they will require you to have specific training.
At Coast2Coast, we are happy to suggest a course we believe would be beneficial to your requirements, but we cannot be held responsible if you register for the incorrect course. These two courses contain different material, so it is important to know which one to register for prior to enrolling.
Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C is our basic first aid training course. This course teaches minimal first aid as well as CPR, AED and choking for adults, infants and children. Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C is more advanced as it covers everything taught in Emergency First Aid as well as additional topics. Typically, we recommend this course since it is a higher level of training.
If you wish to enrol in a Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training course, please know that there are no pre-requisites. It is recommended to have some understanding of how to perform CPR and use an AED as this course is fast-paced and more intense than regular CPR/AED training courses we offer at Coast2Coast.
Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training is designed for healthcare professionals such as nurses, dental professionals, first responders and more. This course covers high-performance CPR, trauma, opioid overdose and more. Along with life-saving skills, the Basic Life Support training course also teaches students how to work as a team in a fast-paced environment such as a hospital.
As a healthcare professional, it is important to learn and understand these life-saving techniques as the people you care for rely on you to assist them. Due to this, students must renew their certificate annually, as it is only valid for one year.
Have you taken a First Aid and CPR/AED training course with a Canadian Red Cross training partner and realized it is about to expire? If so, you will need to recertify as soon as possible! Most Canadian Red Cross certificates are valid for three years (one year for Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP)). Before your certificate expires, you will need to complete a Recertification course.
If you let your certificate expire, you will no longer be eligible for a Recertification course and you will be forced to register for a full training course again. Occasionally, employers and school program coordinators will require you to recertify your training once a year.
CPR/AED Level C can be recertified over and over whereas Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C can only be recertified once. Essentially, this means that you must alternate between a full course and a Recertification course each time you require renewal.
Yes, definitely! If you wish to certify eight or more people at once for the same training course, please inquire about a Private/Group First Aid and CPR/AED course with Coast2Coast. Our private training courses not only provide your group with WSIB approved Canadian Red Cross certificates. We also provide great benefits!
Once you provide us with information about your group, you have the opportunity to tell us when and where you would like your training to occur. This could be at your workplace, school, gym, etc. as long as there is enough floor space to practice hands-on skills. We will send one of our Canadian Red Cross instructors to your location with all required training equipment.
Private training groups will also receive amazing discounts on their first aid and CPR/AED course! Our private training coordinators are guaranteed to give you the best price possible, making training for multiple people affordable.
