CPR Level A and CPR Level C courses

How Much is First Aid Training in Alberta?

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) provide the skills of recognizing and responding to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and infants, depending on the level of CPR/AED course chosen.

All CPR/AED training includes using an automated external defibrillator to familiarize participants with how the device works. Dealing with circulatory crises such as a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening external/internal bleeding is also part of the training.

The CPR-A and CPR-C courses share similarities, but there is an important distinction between the two. CPR-A focuses on teaching students how to perform CPR using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and provide assistance specifically for adults. On the other hand, CPR-C encompasses CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, along with the use of an AED.
