Group Training for Social, Government and Support Services
Social workers and support services are often the backbones of our communities. We forget not everyone has the same needs and abilities, and social and support workers play a very valuable part in making those community members feel whole and a part of their region. We train social and support workers with CPR/AED and First Aid in exact scenarios that will face in their profession. All our courses at Coast2Coast require participants to practice their skills and from this, we see tremendous confidence in their training, and when they leave our facility, we know they are able to help anyone in need of their services.
Coast2Coast teaches those in the support and service industry how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives, how to administer CPR and use an AED, and how to brief and calm someone in the event of an emergency. Our course content also includes environmental emergencies and basic mental health first aid, which plays an important role in public setting with those who are social workers and work in disability services.
Our instructors hired at Coast2Coast First Aid are redeemable by the Canadian Red Cross, and work together with our curriculum to assess learning through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Our student’s will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios. This improves our students moral in feeling prepared for their careers and any situation where an emergency can occur inside or outside work hours.
All the courses we teach are WSIB approved and meet the highest standards of the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Act.
At Coast2Coast, we offer the following Canadian Red Cross and WSIB approved courses:
• CPR/AED Level A/C
• Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
• Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
Our training services are available in public or private settings, whichever is most comfortable and convenient for you. Our instructors can come to your location, where our on-site training will be catered to your facility and co-workers. We also offer public and private courses at all of our training facilities, including several in the GTA, Ottawa, Hamilton, and London.
All the certificates that are earned are WSIB approved and provided by the Canadian Red Cross which ensures it will be accepted across Canada and valid for 3 years.
Coast2Coast is a prominent training centre that is dedicated to hands-on training, compared to other partners who tend to focus more on memorizing the book and not practical skill training. Many of our instructors contribute time to their communities by way of working with ambulance services, fire departments, in the medical field, military, and childcare related services. With these several positions our instructors hold, they value and cherish the information they teach to our students and create a smooth and easy way to absorb the knowledge and practice of CPR and First Aid training.
