A team approach to professional life-support skills is offered in courses that meet the needs of emergency medical services (EMS) personnel. As an EMR student, your course will heavily focus on skills-based training. Students may choose to enroll in the full EMR course, EMR Recertification or EMR Upgrade. What To Expect During FR/EMR Training

Students will practice hands-on skills with the best training equipment around! This training is heavily scenario-based. Students will be required to think on the spot in order to provide the best care for their “patient.” Each student will respond to multiple scenarios under the guidance of an experienced Canadian Red Cross instructor.

Not only will you learn how to perform techniques, you will also learn how to communicate and work as a team. It is important to understand that working together can make the difference between life and death.

During scenario training, students will have the opportunity to act as a primary responder, secondary responder, victim and bystander. Primary responders must give orders to their secondary responder. Each responder must work together to care for the victim. They must also communicate with the bystander and victim to find out more information regarding the incident.

I liked the professional consultation on which course to choose and the ase of booking and accessing the portal for Blended Certification. Charlie was an active instructor who added some light moments to our intense full day of training at the centre which is conveniently located near the ION rail and bus service as well as nearby cafes to grab a quick snack and coffee.
