How long does Basic Life Support certification last?
Our Basic Life Support training provides students with a certificate valid for one year instead of the older HCP that had a validity of three years. The government upgraded the Basic Life Support training in April 2019. An annual update is essential to ensure you renew your life-saving skills.
Is Basic Life Support and CPR Level C the same thing?
No, Basic Life Support is a different level of training to CPR Level C because it is more advanced and specially designed for healthcare professionals, including nurses, first responders, dentists, etc. CPR Level C is a general course usually taken by everyone else.
What happens if you fail the BLS class?
If you come to class prepared by reading the free Basic Life Support eBook and pay attention to your instructor, you shouldn’t have a problem with passing the course.
After the training, you must prove your hands-on skills and pass the multiple-choice exam. You may take notes during the course and ask questions. If you fail either section, your instructor will give you advice and a second chance to pass. Should you fail again, you must attend the training and pass to receive certification. If you need to re-do the course, contact the office to reschedule your training.
For anyone finding it challenging to complete the course, we suggest you complete a Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C training course in Vaughan first to help you understand the basics.
