Have you completed a First Aid and CPR/AED course before? Then you may be eligible for a Recertification course!
First Aid & CPR certificates expire after three years. Recertification courses were designed to refresh your skills and keep your certificates up-to-date at a low cost.
To qualify for a Recertification course, you must have a valid (not expired) Canadian Red Cross certificate. CPR/AED Level C may be recertified over and over, but Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C can only be recertified once.
You can expect to re-learn material you were taught in your last training course in addition to any new or improved life-saving techniques. Stay updated on life-saving procedures to keep your family, friends, co-workers and more safe!

Are you a First Responder or are you interested in becoming a First Responder? We provide Professional Responder training courses for you!
This high-intensity training course is led by an experienced Canadian Red Cross instructor. Practice various hands-on skills and get prepared for emergencies you may face by going through various scenarios. Once your training is complete, you will feel prepared for your career as a First Responder.
Our number one goal is to help our Professional Responder students feel confident in their skills so they can help keep our communities safe. With this in mind, we provide top-notch training equipment and offer free sessions to our Professional Responder students to practice skills and scenarios!
Waterloo Basic Life Support (HCP)

Many healthcare professionals require regular safety training to keep their life-saving skills fresh. One of the training courses they require is Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP).
At Coast2Coast, we provide this four-hour training course which focuses on high-performance CPR, trauma, opioid overdose and more. Students will learn how to work in a team environment, such as a hospital.
The BLS certificate is WSIB approved and valid for one year, requiring students to complete their training annually.
In addition to the BLS training course, students may also register for Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy separately.
Waterloo Red Cross Babysitting & StaySafe

- Stay Safe
Safety training isn’t only for adults; children and teenagers can also learn important life-saving skills!
Register your child for one of our Canadian Red Cross Youth programs: Stay Safe or Babysitting. These courses will not only teach your child life-saving skills, but also provide them with leadership and child care knowledge.
Stay Safe is designed for children ages 9-13. This course will teach children how to keep themselves safe without adult supervision, helping them make better choices. Stay Safe will also teach your child various life-saving skills such as CPR, bandaging, etc.
On the other hand, Babysitting is meant for slightly older children, ages 11-15. This course will teach your teen how to care for younger children including feeding, changing and more. Similarly to Stay Safe, teens will learn a variety of life-saving skills to keep them and younger children safe.
It’s important that the youth of our communities learn these important skills so they can recognize and respond to any emergencies.

Frequently Asked Questions
We offer CPR/AED Level A, CPR/AED Level C, and Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) in Waterloo. If you’re interested in more comprehensive training, we recommend registering for a first aid course. All of our first aid training courses include CPR. These courses include Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid and Marine Basic First Aid.
No, you do not need prior CPR or first aid training to take a CPR course. Our Canadian Red Cross instructors will teach you all the skills you need to know!
- You can take the online blended format (half online, half in-class) to earn an official WSIB-approved Canadian Red Cross certificate valid for three years.
- We do offer online-only courses with comprehensive course content containing first aid information for various injuries like joint injuries, spinal injuries, and chest injuries, but they will not provide you with an official WSIB-approved certificate. You can upgrade the online-only course to the online blended course within three months of completing it. You must complete an in-class component and practice hands-on skills if you want an official certification.
